Shadow Program North

A Day in the Life of a Nurse

Are you a high school junior or senior interested in studying nursing in college?  Are you curious about what registered nurses do?  This one-day shadow program pairs high school students with registered nurses in area hospitals.  Students spend valuable time in the hospital environment observing professional nurses at work, gaining insight into the responsibilities and expectations of the registered nurse.  Past participants have stated, "Today was a great learning experience, and I learned a lot by following my RN.  Now I’m more excited to go to college and major in nursing!"  Interested juniors and seniors must be enrolled in a high school (or home-schooled) in one of these central Indiana counties:

Elkart, Lake, LaPorte, Marshall, Porter, St.Joseph

For the upcoming academic year, A Day in the Life of a Nurse is scheduled:

Tuesday, November 2, 2010
                       or
Thursday, March 3, 2011

7:30am--3:00pm
