Organization
Nursing 2000 is an educational organization whose membership includes practicing nurses from health care agencies, universities, professional nursing associations, and communities who work together to advance the mission of Nursing 2000.
Mission
Nursing 2000, a collaborative among service and education, promotes and supports registered nursing careers to positively impact clinical and academic nursing workforce resources utilizing contemporary strategies to reach diverse populations.
Purpose
Through agreed upon strategies for its collaborating members, Nursing 2000 promotes opportunities, rewards, and role diversity of the nursing profession through public education, career counseling, scholarships, and unique career awareness programming in the Indiana counties it serves (Marion, Bartholomew, Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Lawrence, Monroe, Morgan, Shelby).
Vision
Nursing 2000 will provide unique career development programs and services in central Indiana that focus on diversity and educational advancement opportunities which will result in stronger career pipelines for primary and second career opportunities, graduate education, as well as a more diverse workforce.
Goals
- To disseminate information about Registered Nursing as a dynamic profession to the following groups: Elementary School Age; Middle School Age; High School Age; Adult Learners; and Career Mobility Nurses.
- To support nurses in educational career mobility and clinical practice to advance nursing careers.
- To impact the education of nurses through collaboration between Nursing Service and Education.
- To recruit a diverse student body reflective of the regional population.
- To attract students into Nursing who have demonstrated those potential academic abilities that will lead to a successful career in Registered Nursing.
- To reflect a positive image of Nursing to the public.
